| Description: | Responsible for providing quality care in cath lab setting in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care. Provides technical support and assistance to Cardiologist/Radiologist for invasive procedures while maintaining standards of the nurse practice act and professional nursing. |
| Duties: | Accurately records and monitors events during diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures (pre, during, and post). Follows moderate sedation policy. Assess patient. Obtains history and other pertinent information. Provides quality patient care. Provides pharmacological support of medications used in cath lab procedures.
Stocks and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment according to protocol and storage allocations. Alerts/notifies supervisor about equipment/supply concerns or problems with operational performance.
Provides patient/family education and support as needed.
Uses sterile technique and maintains sterile environment during invasive procedures. Assists physicians with procedures and ensures materials needed are readily available. Knowledgeable in cath lab procedures. Provides post care as needed including holding pressure. |
| Qualifications: | Must possess and maintain a current RN license or compact RN license to practice in Texas.
Must posses and maintain current CPR Healthcarre Provider.
RN with 2 years experience in Cath Lab.
ACLS certified. |
